Our Vessels
F/v Orca
She is a 39' crusader originally built in Key West, Florida in 1978 as a 34 footer, in 1990 she was cut and stretched an additional 5' to help facilitate commercial net fishing. She is powered by the reliable and trustworthy 250 horsepower cummins 6BTA and cruises well at 14-16 knots. She has earned her stripes over the years and has carried the badge as the "Highliner" of the Gulf of Mexico Shark Fishery for nearly a decade. In the winter of 2022 she began a complete strip down and rebuild with a new wheelhouse, cabin floor, fish box and engine/transmission. She is the workhorse day in and day out and consistently makes 400 miles round trips to fish the winter season fishery southwest of the Mississippi River. The deck has a full length shade top and a 6000lb fish hold for handling the "big" sharks. Inside the Orca, we have both Air conditioned wheelhouse and lower cabin, along with toilets and changing facilities down below.
F/V Mamba
The Mamba is a 1974 "Buskens" Island Marine 31 footer designed and built by the local legendary boat builder Richard "Dickey" Busken. Originally laid up as a working commercial gillnet vessel built to fish the waters of Pensacola Bay and Beach, today she still boasts the original 3000lbs fish hole and the same reliable Cummins 6BT as our other two vessels. We have made some slight modifications to the vessel to assist in shark fishing such as a new large transom door and a fully draining deck to help keep your feet dry. The "Mamba" is complete with both a cabin and a bathroom facility, she is an extremely stable boat and is one of the most comfortable boats the fish on in the entire Gulf Coast.
Dark Thirty
The 'Dark" is a 1973 "Buskens" Island Marine 31 footer designed and built by the local legendary boat builder Richard "Dickey" Busken. Built originally as the sole 31' Busken charter boat ever built.. She was completely gutted and remodeled in 2005, and repowered in 2021 with a 330hp variant of the same reliable Cummins 6BTA as our other two vessels. She has for decades been a staple of the local Red Snapper fleet and has proven to be a comfortable vessel for customers and families to enjoy.
